2010-07-10 · One was Nabokov’s edition of a collection of New Yorker short stories from the 1950s. In it, he’d assigned each piece a grade, some getting Cs, Bs, As or whatever. He’d only assigned two the high grade of an A+: J.D. Salinger’s “A Perfect Day for Banana Fish” (discussed here ) and his own “Colette,” published July 31, 1948.
